SICC and my email to ROS and their response

This is a continuation of my post yesterday.

I decided to write to ROS and get an official response. Below is my Email to ROS in October 2021 which I emailed to the secretary of SICC in October 2021

I am baffled as to why the chairman and secretary insist on the Annual Report being dated wrongly and having the AGM, year after year, after 6 months of the year end.

Subject: Annual return

Dear Ms.Amizan,

I would be grateful if you could please confirm the date for the annual return for a society with a year-end on 31.12.2019.

Should the annual report be for the year 2019 or Annual Report 2019/2020?

Thank you and kind regards,

Luqman Michel

Here is the response which I forwarded to the secretary.

Dear Mr. Luqman,                                                                                    7.10.2021

Your email through Puan Amizan and Puan Roshana dated 6 October 2021 is referred.

Thank you for your email in regard to your concern. Please find our feedback as below:

Annual Statement or Annual Return for a society with a year end on 31.12.2019 should be for the Annual Report 2019.  This annual statement should be submitted yearly and must be presented in the Annual General Meeting (please refer your Society Constitution) and later to submit the report in our eROSES system within that stipulated period. Pursuant to this reply, if you may need further explanation, you may contact our State Office in which your society was registered (Eg: ROS Selangor or ROS Wilayah Persekutuan).

I hope the above feedback has answered your concern.

Thank you.

What Dato Jothi is doing is absolutely ridiculous. This man is an extreme manipulator, known to many in Sabah. The fact that he is reluctant to abide the law and make changes as stipulated by ROS shows his arrogance and ignorance. Also, fact that the sole financial signatory in SICC are both him and his son raises red flag to the accuracy of the financial details. The party being a property of the members are treated like family business. This is not new for him since it has been his usual modus operandi since his time in previous party where all his family members are kept in positions for his own benefit. A new level to Malaysian politics. This guy certainly doesn’t represent the Indians in Sabah, and it’s a total bullshit if he says so. The members of SICC shouldn’t be just a “Yes Sir” member and should start demanding for a full bank and financial statement from SICC. If anything unusual found, put him behind bars.

Here is a comment by Mr.Selvaraja Simmiah on Facebook.

Indians never change!

And the NGO should respond as to why no others members are holding important positions handling money except family members. It reflects badly on other members, as if they cannot be trusted or not credible.

For all the other members who tolerate these chaps, they must be big jokers.
This came out in the Daily Express Forum today and it's according to Luqman, the complainant....

The NGO is Sabah Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC). And recently Chief Minister Hajiji Haji Noor gave a grant of RM100, 000 to SICC.
