My emails to and from Mr. Mok Juang Yu, the chairman of PAM (Sabah) (Part 1)

Image
On March 11, 2025, Mr. Mok Juang Yu, the chairman of PAM (Sabah), visited me at Vistana Heights. He mentioned that his purpose was to inspect the driveway I had highlighted in my Daily Express article, which was a response to his own published statements. He proposed discussing potential solutions with Architect LYS of Vistana Heights and the developer to address the driveway issue. Mr. Mok suggested expanding the driveway, similar to what the neighbour across the street had done. I expressed concern that extending the driveway onto the road, as my neighbour had, might cause issues with DBKK.

Water leakage and possible sink holes in the future

Image
There have been several articles in our Daily Express about water woes in Sabah. On 10.3.2023 when I mentioned the water leakage at S9 (Lot 15) at Vistana Heights many of the professionals including one of 2 residents of Vistana Heights, who were present at the meeting badgered me into answering their question on how much is the water bill for Lot 15. As mentioned by me several times the most stressful thing is to deal with idiots who cannot think.

Vistana Height and conscience

Image
Yesterday, I heard an emotional talk by Jordan Peterson on secret to overcome chaos . Here are a few of the salient points that touched me. We have a divine responsibility. If we don’t act according to our conscience, if we don’t do the things we are supposed to do or if we fail to do the things we are supposed to do our conscience tortures us and tells you that you are not acting in accordance with the central spirit of your being. The truth is what makes the world go around. When you engage in truthful speech, when you say what you have to say, when you do what you say you would do, everything around you works out better. But, if you don’t do that you make things worse. My thoughts as I listened to the above:

Landslide near Genting and Vistana Heights

Image
The image above is the as-built survey of the first two semi-detached houses which were subsequently changed to a 3 story detached house. Note the land slip marked as 15.51m. The original height was 23.86. This means the land slip is (23.86 - 15.51) 8.35 metres. That is more than a 27 feet slip. This house has yet to be completed and is an eye-sore. I asked Mr. Andy Osman, the architect of LPPB, to find out why there is no retention wall behind the houses with a steep fall of about 20 feet.
