Luqman's musings

“Some people think that the truth can be hidden with a little cover-up and decoration. But as time goes by, what is true is revealed, and what is fake fades away.” While social media frequently rages over directly misappropriated public funds, we completely ignore a much silent, equally devastating drain on our resources: systemic infrastructural mismanagement.

A few days ago there was an article in the Daily Express about a land-slip along Jalan Kiulu – Ranau road. Does any engineer know the reason for the slip? Do they even care to know the reason? This is the plight of our civil servants under our current local and Federal government. The cause of the land slip is the same as that of the sink holes around Kota Kinabalu in recent years. Someone should ask our Previous JKR engineer Edward Lingkapo for guidance. I wrote several emails to him at that time to no avail.
