In case you missed it, there's an online 'war' between Kota Bharu's local council, MPKB, and this 'Hiyaz Community' that's been cleaning up and fixing KB's roads and parks. One's fixed, and shows how easy it is to fix, calling out the lack of effort on MPKB's part.

This is an interesting post with many interesting comments. It appears that (Majlis Perbandaran) MP everywhere are the same. The MP in Kota Kinabalu is called DBKK. They approved an occupancy certificate for a project for which a retaining wall was required. The houses are on top of a cliff that is over 20 feet high.

No retaining wall was built.

The engineer filed a form that is a prerequisite to obtaining the occupancy certificate.

It said that he (the engineer) supervised the construction of the retaining wall.

DBKK certified the form titled ‘SIJIL PERAKUAN KERJA SIAP UNTUK TEMBOK PENAHAN & PERLINDUNGAN CERUN’ (Certificate of Completion for Retaining Wall & Slope Protection)

I complained to all departments including the CM, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor to no avail.

Are architects liable for fabricated documents submitted to authorities

In 2020, many of my well-meaning friends told me that I have no course of action against the professionals involved in obtaining the Occupancy Certificate for Vistana Heights project with fabricated as-built survey plan. I believe all those involved, including DBKK senior officers, LPPB (Lembaga Pembangunan Perumahan Dan Bandar) and its GM Rosemary Ahping, Arkitek LYS, Lembaga Juruukur Sabah etc. will be answerable for how the Occupancy Certificate was issued. Hopefully, my complaint to SPRM (MACC), LJS, DBKK, Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia will be looked into.
